Steep Canyon Rangers |

Part of the BRAVO! series. Steep Canyon Rangers put on a great bluegrass show. I was especially impressed with the “drummer” who also played slide guitar, standard guitar, bass, and sang. Actually many of them switched instruments mid-performance. Regardless, they were all top notch musicians, the fiddler was incredible! My favorite number was the encore: they switched off all the mics, huddled together, and performed a song about the Promised Land, still singing at the end while walking off the stage, causing the sound to fade into the distance. So cool. |

Mrs. Bennett was a deaf actress who used ASL, with her daughters taking turns interpreting for the audience. I thought the more positive interpretation of Charlotte’s personality and marriage was nice to see and different from most portrayals. I wish they’d had more fun with the scene when Lydia comes home with Wickham, it’s supposed to be more than just “cold shoulder.” I especially liked Lizzie. A nice interpretation overall. |

Good, but overhyped. I was engaged the whole time and there were some fun elements, but after the subtlety of the movie, the story felt rushed and the humor sometimes bordered on farcical. Citizen Chauvelin’s voice was absolutely beautiful. |

This was my first time seeing this play. The set and the effects were colorful and lush — I really did feel transported to a tropical island. Papa Ge was a standout. |

Acting Up did a great job with this. Orpheus’ voice rivaled the voice in original Broadway production. Persephone sang her songs with more of a pop flare than I hear in the Broadway original… I liked it! It really hits you when Orpheus turns around. Sad. |

Part of the BRAVO! series. Pablo, another guitarist, an upright bass player, and a percussionist on the cajón. Really fantastic musicianship. One standout was a guitar duet arrangement of the Spanish Romanza. |

First half was a bit slow, but the second half redeemed the show. It’s nice to have a protagonist who is a single older lady. I was horrified when the dress gets burned. |

Super fun production. Shakespeare was hilarious — a total rockstar. The music was hilarious, the premise was funny. The lead’s vocals weren’t his strong point, but still good and great acting all around. I really enjoyed this one. |
